About the Band

The song writing team of Bob and Joy Gamache are the core of INDUS. They formed the New Jersey based band in 1987, choosing the star constellation, "INDUS, The American Indian" for their name. Combining acoustic rock with meaningful lyrics INDUS is powerful and captivating. Featuring Joy Gamache on vocals, mandolin, flute and guitar, and Bob Gamache on 12-string guitar adding back-up vocals, this is a band worth giving a listen.

In 1989 INDUS independently released their first LP cassette "Illusion", followed by "Breath", an EP cassette in 1990. In 1991 "We’ve Gone Too Far Away", an environmentally concerned video, that combined animation by Bob & Joy Gamache with footage of the band in the studio. In the beginning of 1993 INDUS released another LP cassette, "En Route". At the close of 1993 INDUS independently released their first acoustic album "These Wings", on Compact Disc. 1997 found INDUS back in the studio with many area musicians joining forces. INDUS independently released "Society Scenestealer".

INDUS has performed in clubs and theaters across New Jersey and New York City as well. INDUS has had the pleasure of opening for many national acts including, Heart, Rickie Lee Jones, 10,000 Maniacs, The Band, Warren Zevon, Dave Mason, John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band, 'Til Tuesday, Hot Tuna, New Riders Of The Purple Sage, John Eddie, Nils Lofgren, Graham Parker, Mick Fleetwood's band The Zoo, Richard Barone, Marshall Crenshaw, Peter Himmelman, The Wild Colonials, Glen Burtnik, POCO, David Bromberg and Jeffery Gains.
